How to calculate the area of a parallelogram
Area (A) = base (b) × perpendicular height (h).
For b = 8 m and h = 5 m: A = 8 × 5 = 40 m².
Use the perpendicular height
Height is the shortest distance between the chosen base and its parallel opposite side, measured at 90°. Do not substitute the slanted side length.

Enter a base and its matching perpendicular height. A side length, angle, diagonal, perimeter, or inscribed shape alone does not provide those two inputs, and this calculator does not derive a missing height.
